Heute hat Apple iOS 6.1 veröffentliCHT (wir berichteten), auch wurde iOS 5.2 für Apple tv 2 und AppleTV 3 veröffenlticht (wir berichteten). Zeitgleich hat Apple auch eine Pressemitteilung veröffenlicht. In dieser wird unter anderem verlautbart, dass bereits über 300 millionen iDevices iOS 6.0 oder höher installiert haben.

Die Entwicler freut die Verbreitung von iOS, da bereits mehr als 500 Millionen iOS Geräte in der weiten Welt im Umlauf sind.

“iOS 6 is the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, and with nearly 300 million iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices on iOS 6 in just five months, it may be the most popular new version of an OS in history,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iOS 6.1 brings LTE support to more markets around the world, so even more users can enjoy ultrafast Safari browsing, FaceTime video calls, iCloud services, and iTunes and App Store downloads.”

Mit iOs 6.1 werden nun noch mehr LTE Netze weltweit unterstützt. Es sind 36 iPhone Netzfunkanbieter und 23 neue iPad Netzanbieter hinzugefügt wurden.

AppStore, iMessage & Photo Stream

Der App Store beinhaltet zurzeit mehr als 800.000 App wobei mehr als 300.000 App für das iPad angepasst sind. Es sind zurzeit weltweit über 9 Milliarden Fotos im Photo Stream.
mehr als 450 Milliaren iMessage Nachrichten wurden versendet und mer als 4 Billionen Notifications (Benachrichtigungen) wurden versendet.
